OVH to set up shop in Australia

France-based hosting company OVH is coming to Australia.

OVH, which claims to be the world's number three hosting company, is moving into the Asia Pacific market with data centres in Sydney and Singapore and a regional office in Melbourne.

The Sydney data centre is expected to be up and running on 30 October. Dedicated hosting, virtual private servers, private cloud and in due course public cloud services will be available.

Limited but unspecified introductory offers are available from OVH's new Sydney, Singapore and Warsaw (Poland) data centres. The company claims these "provide the best price and quality ratio in each market."

OVH operates its own global network with a capacity of 7.3 Tbps and 32 points of presence worldwide.

The company expects its Virginia (US) datacentre to go into production by the end of this year, with another seven in the US, Germany, Italy, Spain, England and Netherlands following by the end of 2017, bringing the total to 27 in 11 countries across three continents.
