Give a Death Star for Christmas to the Jedi you love

Plox, an Australian innovative and technology company, has launched (pun intended) the Empire’s gravity-defying levitating Star Wars Death Star speaker.

Plox drew the attention of Disney to create a product for the public, combining technology and aesthetics.

With cold-grey design from the dark side and powerful energy from the force, this piece of technology is not bound by the laws of gravity and combines all that Star Wars fans need. It was first launched in Australia and New Zealand, and will soon be global.

“It is with great excitement that today we announce the launch of our new Star Wars levitating speaker. As we are always looking for new and innovative designs to bring to market, we believe that the Death Star speaker will leave fans in Australia and around the world eager to witness the style and performance, with a seamless integration of hardware, engineering, and design, offering a complete and impressive sound experience,” said Sean Andrews, co-founder of Plox.

{loadposition ray}Disney came onboard the Star Wars vessel in 2012 and made many dreams come true by returning the world popular saga. Since the new trilogy’s return in 2015, many Star Wars products have been revealed to the public.

The Death Star speaker follows the movie’s return to the big screen with a new trilogy which started last year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story coming up in December 2016, fans are keen to discover more about the Star Wars universe and the Death Star construction itself.

Plox’s Death Star levitating speaker has some of the key features a speaker can have, allying design, sound and classic reference from Star Wars movies. With gravity-defying orb rotating above the magnetic base, it has 5W, 360-degree sound quality.

Both the base and Death Star require charging – USB 5V/1A for the speaker and DC12V-2A for the base.

Charge time is two hours and play time is five hours. The speaker uses Bluetooth version of 4.1 with EDR.

Death Star levitating speakers can be used at home, the office or a Bat-wing fighter, with 95 mm diameter for the Death Star and 143 round x 30 mm for the base. They weigh 1 kg.

The Death Star levitating speaker costs $249.95 from JB Hi-Fi, EB Games, Tech 2 Go, The Co-op, Telstra and Harvey Norman New Zealand or online here.
