The "next wave of innovation in home-grown heart-rate headphones" has arrived via BioConnected via a new campaign using Aussie fund-raising platform Igniteme.
Australia’s "newest fundraising platform, Igniteme," has launched a new campaign in partnership with Australian sports technology startup, BioConnected.
The Igniteme campaign "will enable Aussies to purchase the HR+ Biosensing Sports Earphones at a reduced price of $279," while every purchaser "will also be put into the running to win a lifetime supply of running gear from specialist retail store Running Science."
We're told this lifetime supply "consists of a new pair of shorts, a shirt and shoes every year for a maximum of 40 years."

Launched last month in Australia, the HR+ earphones are "the world’s first biosensing earphones that measure both heart rate and heart rate variability.
"Developed by an Australian team of specialists in integrated health and fitness biofeedback technology, the earphones monitor every fitness metric to help users accurately track exercise sessions and improve their fitness."
And what will the funds raised from the headphone sales on Igniteme go towards?
Funds raised from the headphone sales on Igniteme will go towards expanding the product’s core functionality and opening it up to a broader range of users.
Specifically, the company says it will "use the money to develop an Android version of the companion app to complement the existing iPhone app – a move that will make the product accessible to the 55.7% of Australians who use Android smartphones.
"The money will also go towards developing customised features in the app, including personalised training and group training programmes, expanding the HRV (Heart Rate Variability), and a new ‘mindfulness’ feature."
Ian Bell, company director and chief marketing officer of BioConnected, said he was "excited about the next phase of development being powered by the Igniteme fundraising campaign."
“I think this is a very unique opportunity for Australians to not only buy a product, but be directly responsible and invested in its ongoing improvement and success.
“Igniteme offers a different and quite clever approach to raising funds that I believe will really resonate with startups who need help with getting their projects off the ground,” Bell added.
Kristjan Geering, co-founder of Igniteme, said BioConnected was "a great example of the kind of high-quality Australian enterprises that the platform was looking to work with."
“The BioConnected team has worked tirelessly for three years to bring this product to market, and they’ve done an amazing job in creating the only product in the world that’s engineered from the ground up to accurately measure heart rate through your ears.
“We’re thrilled to be working with BioConnected to help fund that critical next stage of development that will get more Australians – as well as the rest of the world – become acquainted with the brand and establish it as a fitness tech company to be reckoned with,” Geering concluded.
