Proudly boasting of “a year of remarkable growth in 2017,” accounting software company Intuit has surpassed 100,000 local subscribers reflecting 89% growth.
With 89% growth over the past year, Intuit follows this up by stating that it follows its previous “substantial growth in FY16 when it reported 53,000 subscribers with a growth of 61% year-on-year (YOY).
So, what has Intuit Australia attributed this FY17 growth to?
We’re told it has been attributed to three core market differentiators.

We’re told these three core differentiators are:
- a mobile first strategy,
- world-class customer support and,
- innovation, delivered by a high-performing and entrepreneurial local team.
This fine local result is bolstered by Intuit’s international results and growth, too, which are as follows:
- Intuit Inc. finished the year with over 2.3 million customers, a subscriber growth rate of 58%, up from 41%.
- Over 870,000 QuickBooks Online customers were added in fiscal 2017, twice as many the company added in fiscal 2016.
- The US subscriber base grew 53% YOY, to nearly 1.9 million subscriptions, up from 40% growth rate last year.
- Outside the US, the subscriber base grew 75% YOY, to over 500,000 subs, up from 45% growth last year.
- As well as Australia surpassing the 100K mark, the U.K. and Canadian markets also hit 100K subscribers, solidifying Intuit’s position as the global leader in cloud accounting.
Nicolette Maury, VP and Country Manager of Intuit Australia, said: “I am delighted to announce that we reached a new Australian milestone at the end of July: 100,000 customers. This is testament to the commitment of our employees and of our accountant, bookkeeper and developer partners in delivering a platform that powers the prosperity of our customers.
“We’ve only been in the market a little over four years and we continue to expand at a remarkable rate. Our sights are set on being number one in Australia within the next five years and we have set aggressive targets to achieve this.
“Intuit is the global leader in cloud accounting software and part of our local strategy is to leverage international resources and innovation to help Australia’s 2.7 million small businesses and one million self-employed prosper.
“FY17 was a year of heavy investment in the Australian business. We launched QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app, brought the flagship conference, QuickBooks Connect, to Australia, and launched the first version of practice management designed to give accountants end-to-end workflow management of their clients.
“31% of our new small business customers come from mobile, reflecting the high adoption rates of mobile technology in Australia.”
“Our growth has only been made possible by the passion of our local team in delivering and driving innovation across the business and product. We now boast an Aussie team of 117 employees, with more joining to meet increasing customer demand.”
