ACMA issues reminder on TCP Code compliance

The Australian Communications and Media Authority has issued a reminder that Carrier Service Providers in the telecommunications sector have until the beginning of September to lodge statements of compliance with the Telecommunications Consumer Protections Code.

The regulator says CSPs must lodge a statement — known as Compliance Attestation — addressing matters relating to code compliance by 1 September.

Statements of compliance have to be lodged with Communications Compliance (CommCom), an independent compliance monitoring body established under the Telecommunications Consumer Protections Code to oversee the conduct of the Code Compliance Framework.

And in addition to providing a compliance attestation to CommCom, suppliers are bound by the TCP Code to register with Communications Alliance, the peak industry body representing the communications industry.
