Software AG says ready for EU's GDPR regime

Digital business platform provider Software AG has announced that it has developed a framework to help businesses comply with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulations that will come into force next year.

From 25 May next year, the EU will require all companies and institutions to follow rules that are aimed at protecting personal data and upholding data privacy rights of EU residents.

The company said that by using its framework, companies would be able to fulfill the obligations imposed on them by the regulations, including being able to create a detailed record of processing activities, and provide transparency into data, processes and applications.

Mike Saxton, senior vice-president for Asia Pacific and Japan at Software AG, said the company was committed to providing businesses in the Australian and New Zealand region with solutions that offered value and customer centricity.

“By having a reliable framework in place to ensure GDPR readiness for May 2018, our customers will be able to focus more of their efforts on staying profitable and competitive in the today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, without having to worry about compliance issues”.

Michiel Jorna, global industry director for Digital Risk at Software AG, said: “GDPR affects all businesses worldwide that are active in the EU market.

"As a global provider of products and services for digital business transformation - and the GDPR is certainly a reaction to increasing digitalisation - Software AG can help ensure that companies in any geographical location can effectively and efficiently comply with GDPR.

"With a product portfolio addressing business process analysis, enterprise architecture management, IT planning and GRC (governance, risk management and compliance), we are in a strong position to support companies in building an effective, sustainable GDPR practice while continuing with their digital business initiatives."
