Gruden signs PayPal deal for payments start-up

Technology agency Gruden has made a deal with online payment provider PayPal so that its MobileDEN platform can process payments through the latter.

A statement from Gruden said that the 6.7 million Australian PayPal users would now be able to process payments at stores and restaurants using the MobileDEN apps.

Companies like Starbucks, Mad Mex and Quick Service Restaurant Holdings (which has brands like Red Rooster and Oporto in Australia) use the platform.

Last year, Gruden completed a backdoor listing on the ASX to raise capital for MobileDEN.

MobileDEN already has a Master Merchant agreement with Westpac.

Gruden Group chief executive Tim Parker said: “MobileDEN’s platform and apps can’t make people like your food – yet we always aim to help them fall in love with your brand experience. PayPal makes it very convenient for 6.7 Million Australians to safely pay online, without having to re-key credit card details every time.

“MobileDEN has invested significantly into making it easy to onboard new restaurants by streamlining the merchant sign-up process and providing a valuable consolidated reporting system.

"Regardless if customers pay by credit card, PayPal, cash, loyalty points or even a combination of multiple payment types, through MobileDEN’s systems, a store manager gets a single consolidated view of all online transactions.

“Building strong partnerships with reliable industry leading partners has been the cornerstone of our success. The PayPal partnership will further strengthen MobileDEN’s position in the quick service restaurant market and beyond.

"Our middleware platform integrates the many enterprise systems that leading QSR brands rely on for POS, ordering, loyalty, CRM, delivery and payments and having one of the leading payment solution providers fully integrated will not only add value to the brands that we service but importantly also to their customers.”
