Vodafone has issued contradictory messages about its voice services that were affected across the country from 10.30am on Wednesday.
The company said on Twitter that the problem had been fixed by 2.30pm AEDT
But a statement on its Facebook page at 4.55pm AEDT said the fault was still affecting some users.
"We are aware that some customers are still experiencing intermittent disruption to their voice services following an earlier issue.
{loadposition sam08}"We are working to get services back to normal as soon as possible. Text and data services are not affected. Thank you for your ongoing patience, and again apologise for the inconvenience."
The statement on Twitter said that the fault was caused by a fault during scheduled work, which resulted in voice traffic congestion.

"An earlier issue which caused intermittent disruption to voice services for some customers has now been resolved," it said.
Some customers were able to receive calls and send texts and receive them, but unable to make calls, according to messages posted at AussieOutages.
Others could neither make nor receive calls, while text messaging worked just fine.
