US telco and global communications giant Verizon has been included on a new federal government telecommunications services panel with six other services providers.
Verizon Enterprise Solutions Australia has been added to the panel by the Department of Finance to provide network carriage, managed networks and Internet connection services.
Along with Verizon, Telstra has also been selected for the initial panel, as well as Macquarie Telecom, Nextgen Networks, Sliced Tech and TPG Network.
The government’s new Telecommunications Services panel, established by the Department of Finance, is appointed for an initial term of four years, with options to extend for a further three periods of 12 months each.
Robert Le Busque, Verizon’s managing director for Australia and New Zealand and India, says Verizon has a “strong heritage of working with federal government agencies around the world”.
