Bankwest introduces Android Pay

Bankwest has introduced Android Pay for its customers, the bank announced on Tuesday.

Products and Marketing executive general manager Jason Chan said the launch was an important step on Bankwest’s digital journey and reflected customers’ changing needs by helping them make payments in ways that suited their lifestyles.

“Consumers increasingly expect all organisations, including banks and financial institutions, to be more flexible, digitally-focused and responsive to help them achieve what matters," he said.

“Our smartphones are an essential part of our daily lives. They hold the key to our work, entertainment and social lives. Android Pay is just one example of us listening to and responding to our customers.”

“Android Pay is our first mobile payment offering and forms part of a multi-million dollar commitment to improving our customers’ mobile experience,” he said.

The launch of Android Pay supports Bankwest’s goal to provide a "paperless banking" service for customers by 2020.

“We’re proud to offer this new service to our customers. Managing your finances and your banking is now even easier with Android Pay, our award-winning Bankwest Easy Alerts push notifications and our extensive suite of eStatements online,” Chan added.
