Many VR headsets use a smartphone for content, and lower cost plastic lenses – Zeiss’s new VR One Plus have Zeiss precision optical lenses.
If you have tried many VR headset that use a smartphone screen, you will often see the images are not as crisp as they should be. Optical lens makers Zeiss looked into the issue and has produced the VR ONE Plus.
It supports most smartphones from 4.7 to 5.5” including the new iPhones due to an innovative slide-out tray. The front shield is transparent to allow for some augmented reality use of the smartphone camera.
