From protecting 10,000 Chemist Warehouse employees in Australia through to being recognised as a leader in Forrester’s "Endpoint Security Suites" evaluation for business users, Kaspersky Lab is fab.
The Russian security supremos continue on their quest to be the best Internet security company they can be, not just "shirt-fronting" cyber criminals, but taking them out and exposing their nefarious ways to the world at large.
The company has been a security tour-de-force, advancing the state of the art and leading to a situation where plenty of people and companies happily embrace Kaspersky’s security solutions — something that would have been unthinkable during the Cold War — but is a cold, hard fact of life in a world where cybercrime threatens to make victims of us all.
So successful has Kaspersky Lab been that its security solutions are used worldwide, with the company even able to sponsor F1 internationally and the Manly Sea Eagles in Australia among other sponsorships, as the company grows ever closer to its customers on a global basis.

The company has had many successes in identifying malware and cyber-criminal tactics, and has won many awards and plaudits over the years for doing so, not to mention happy customers.
Now comes the latest accolade of being recognised as a "Leader in The Forrester Wave: Endpoint Security Suites, Q4 2016".
According to the report, Kaspersky Lab’s solution "meets most enterprise requirements in a tightly integrated package. The Forrester Wave evaluated Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business, the company’s integrated security management solution".
Forrester invited select vendors to participate in its 2016 Forrester Wave evaluation. All participating vendors "provide endpoint security suites that prevent, detect, and remediate endpoint threats, have enterprise market presence and a high level of interest from enterprise buyers. Analysts evaluated the vendors against 25 criteria on current offering, strategy and market position".
The report states, “Kaspersky Lab has one of the most complete endpoint security solutions on the market, with strong prevention, detection, and remediation capabilities. The company developed each of these capabilities in-house, so integration between the different components is strong and meaningful.”
It also mentions, “Overall, customers report a high level of effectiveness in both malware and exploit prevention, with solid post-execution detection capabilities.”
Peter Brady, general manager at Kaspersky Lab A/NZ, said, “We are glad to be named a Leader in The Forrester Wave Endpoint Security. We continue to deliver the industry's best multi-layered protection, addressing the IT security needs of large organisations, and bringing together security technologies that help prevent cyber threats.
“We believe in an integrated approach, and this means bringing prevention, as well as detection and incident response capabilities to our solutions. As we develop our enterprise portfolio further, our goal is to deliver the latest intelligence and the most advanced technology to all key areas of large IT infrastructure."
Earlier this year, Kaspersky Endpoint Securities also secured Australia’s largest pharmacy group, Chemist Warehouse, which has more than 10,000 employees, to "move to online pharmacies with five specialist e-commerce websites, dispatching orders to customers’ homes throughout the country from a network of distribution centres".
Over the past five years Chemist Warehouse has "built up a portfolio of 4500 licences providing multi-layered protection for workstation and laptop endpoints, including employees own devices, supported by 400 more to protect its virtual server environment. The platform helped to provide the foundations and the confidence for a period of unprecedented growth for the business, with online transactions doubling year-on-year and 40 new retail stores opening each year".
Kaspersky’s enterprise sales manager A/NZ, Rebecca Nguyen, added, “It was important to understand our clients needs and wants for the business especially previously working with Chemist Warehouse prior to this. They are the largest pharmacy group in Australia and securing data was crucial. This allowed us to create a platform and bring new ideas to the table to cater solutions that would help in securing their products and services."
Kaspersky Lab also enhanced its enterprise portfolio with the new "Kaspersky Anti-Targeted Attack Platform and the wide range of Security Intelligence Services aimed at protecting businesses from even the most sophisticated threats".
There's more – a dedicated R&D centre was opened in Dublin (Ireland), focused mainly on "developing advanced data analysis and machine learning technologies for the company’s enterprise solutions offering. The team is responsible for core parts of new Kaspersky Lab solutions, focused on targeted attack detection and investigation".
