If you want to buy one of Apple's new 2018 iPads, being the affordable 9.7-inch sized model that now features Apple Pencil support, you can buy one on a plan from Telstra too.
It's not just Apple, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Harvey Norman or any of the other usual places where Apple's new 9.7-inch iPad can be purchased, by from a telco on a plan.
Now, while Apple's iPad starts at $469 for the 32GB Wi-Fi version, the price obviously goes up if you want larger capacities, or want a model with a 4G LTE SIM-card slot, but Telstra only offers 4G equipped models as it is a telco, after all.
So, what is Telstra charging per month, on a 24-month contract, for the 32GB and 128GB 2018 iPad models?
{loadposition alex08}Well, the answer is simple - $50 per month with 10GB data per month for the 32GB model, and only $7 more at $57 per month for the 128GB model, again with 10GB to use each month on Telstra's 4GX network.
This plan is the "L" plan, which actually also comes with a bonus 5GB of data per month, for a total of 15GB monthly data, and one Foxtel Now starter pack of televisual subscription TV content.
As you'll see at Telstra's pricing page for this iPad, it also has an "S" plan with 1GB data, the "M" plan with 6GB data, and an "XL" plan with 25GB data.
Now, it's important to note that Apple is position its newest iPad as being perfect for kids at school, given the new compatibility with the separately purchasable Apple Pencil, as well as the already available separate Smart Keyboard cover.
You can see the educational and kid-friendly focus at Telstra's iPad page, which is the same info you'll see at Apple's 2018 iPad page.
You can also watch Apple's must-see March 2018 keynote which ably showcased all of the cool ways kids, schools and anyone can use the new iPad, and any modern iPad in general.
But it's obviously not just for kids, but anyone that wants a new iPad at an affordable price.
Of course, if you need an even bigger screen, or even more power, then Apple has its iPad Pro models available, and which Telstra naturally offers on a range of plans, too.
All of that said, business users don't all need the Pro model, with the original 9.7-inch sized iPad screen still wildly popular, and so there should be no surprise to see Telstra offering its small business customers the ability to pre-order the new iPad online too here, at with Telstra's business customers "able to purchase the device from 10 April at Telstra Business Centres, Contact Centres and online."
So, what is Apple promoting as the headlines features of the new 2018 iPad?
The company is billing it as its "most affordable iPad" which is "more versatile and capable than ever, features a large Retina display, the A10 Fusion chip and advanced sensors that help deliver immersive augmented reality and provides great portability, ease of use and all-day battery life".
Apple says "iPad’s beautiful 9.7-inch Retina display delivers gorgeous detail and vivid colours, and features a higher-resolution touch sensor which enables Apple Pencil support. Available for purchase separately, Apple Pencil delivers a remarkably fluid and natural drawing experience. Advanced sensors measure both pressure and tilt, and provide pixel accuracy and low latency. iPad’s palm rejection technology even makes it possible to rest your hand on the screen while you use Apple Pencil".
"The new iPad features the Apple-designed A10 Fusion chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, delivering 40% faster CPU and 50% faster graphics performance for seamless multitasking and graphics-intensive apps. The front- and back-facing cameras offer exceptional low-light performance and HD video recording for document scanning, movie-making and FaceTime calls with friends, family and colleagues* (data charges may apply)".
Then there's the augmented reality capabilities, with Apple naturally reminding us that its new iPad is a "stunning, large viewfinder for immersive AR experiences. Its Retina display, powerful chip, enhanced cameras and advanced sensors, including a gyroscope and accelerometer for accurate motion tracking, are designed to support the next generation of AR apps".
