Telecommunications services provider the MNF Group has been selected as a preferred supplier to the Tasmanian Government for telephony and IP-based services.

Under the new contract, MNF Enterprise — part of the MNF Group — was selected, along with two other carriers, to be a supplier to the State Government’s Telephony and Mobile Data panel. The other two carriers awarded the contract were Telstra and Launceston-based Taz-ICT.

MNF Group and the other two telcos were each awarded an initial two-year contract worth $1.167 million, with an option to extend for a further eight years – worth an additional $8 million plus each.

MNF says the deal provides the Tasmanian Government with an alternative IP telephony platform, to replace PSTN as well as offering a range of OTT services such as audio and web conferencing, SMS portal, and eFax to support the government’s migration to the NBN.

“We have a strong track record for delivering quality services to the government sector and our traction in this space is a reflection of the high regard in which we are held.”

MNF Group added the MNF Enterprise brand to its portfolio in November last year.

Sugo says the MNF Enterprise brand was introduced to differentiate the company’s growing suite of enterprise and government products and services from the MyNetFone residential and small business offer.
