Canon Oceania has appointed Akira "Dave" Yoshida as its new managing director, in place of Yusuke Mizoguchi who has been promoted to a new role at Canon Europe.
The changes will take place in April.
A statement from the company said Yoshida had more than 20 years' experience at Canon, having also worked in both the US and Canada. Most recently, he was the general manager of Laser Printing at Canon headquarters in Japan, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in managing and growing his division.
Commenting on his new appointment, Yoshida said: “I look forward to commencing my new role in Australia, and am eager to meet our talented employees and work with our valued customers and partners. I am excited to continue the magnificent work of Mr Mizoguchi in this region.”

He was a driving force behind the company broadening its service offering, focusing on the acquisitions of Harbour IT and Converga.
He also embodied the Canon principles of Kyosei — meaning to live and work together for the common good — by implementing several community and sustainability initiatives, including the Inspiring Tomorrow Grants Programme and the move to Canon’s new green sustainable headquarters.
Commenting on his tenure in Canon Oceania, Mizoguchi said: “My journey here has been very rewarding and I have met and worked alongside many fantastic people. As I hand the reigns over to Mr Yoshida, Canon will continue our focus on delivering on our commitments to Canon Oceania customers, consumers, partners and employees, who are at the heart of everything we do.
