iTWire wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

iTWire wishes all readers the most wonderful of Christmases and festive seasons, and the best and happiest New Year for 2018 possible.

It's that time of the year, when a bazillion technological presents are sitting under Christmas trees across the planet, whether placed there by Santa, parents or your chosen festive figure.

Whether you are receiving an iOS device, or one powered by Windows, whether it is activated by Android, or given life by Linux, whether it is a custom OS or a retro OS from years gone by, we hope you enjoy it with all your heart.

In this week that emcompasses Christmas, Boxing Day and the rest of the year, we all hope to relax and recharge, to spend time with loved ones without familial angst, and we sincerely hope there are no global events of significance such as tsunamis or terrorism to impede on what should be the most wonderful time of the year.

{loadposition alex08}It's nearly 2018 – nearly two decades since the turn of the millennium, and three to four decades since seminal shows like Towards 2000 and then Beyond 2000 made the then coming year 2000 seem so fantastic and futuristic.

Now, in late 2017, smartphones have taken over the planet, smart watches and wearables are becoming ever more advanced, Windows 10 is finally where it should be after the disaster of Windows 8, and maybe all those Windows XP laggards will finally upgrade in 2018.

Next year will see iOS 12, Android Peach or Pear or Pineapple or Pancake or Panna cotta or Parfait or Pastry or Peanut brittle or Peanut butter cookie or Pecan pie or Popsicle or Praline or Pound Cake or Pudding or Pumpkin Pie or something else.

It will see an iPhone XI, a Galaxy S9, a Note 9, a Huawei 11, an LG G7 – but no Windows 11.

It will see security stay at the forefront of concern, of cyber security going to new lengths of protection and hackery.

We'll see wonders at CES 2018 like we've never seen before, and we'll see advances during the year so amazing we'll wonder how they can be topped.

We'll sadly see evil rear its ugly head, but always remember: there are more of us good people than the bad, we surround those who want to do us harm and we'll always fight for justice and peace and happiness and for what's right.

So... may you wholeheartedly enjoy this incredibly special and amazing time, may you hug your loved ones, may you love them and bless them with all that is good.

May God bless us all, and may you have the most amazing Christmas and New Year that you can possibly have, from all of us here at iTWire.
