ServiceNow, Soldier On partner on veterans reintegration

Global enterprise cloud provider ServiceNow is partnering with defence force veterans integration services group, Soldier On, to assist in reintegration for Australian veterans.

The deal sees ServiceNow working in partnership with the Citadel Group, Accenture and CSC to run training and placement programmes which will assist Soldier On in its mission to achieve the best reintegrated generation of serving and ex-serving men and women in Australia.

David Oakley, managing director, ServiceNow, says the company is committed to becoming a strong partner with veterans as they transition to civilian life. “We see ourselves as a part of the defence ecosystem, and with our partners we will work to run a programme that delivers rewarding and sustainable employment.”

Over the past four years Soldier On has provided veterans and their families with free counselling sessions, wellbeing activities, and volunteering programmes.

“ServiceNow is changing the way people work with a cloud platform that has seen great adoption by enterprises globally,” Oakley says.

“With our corporate and government footprint rapidly expanding in Australia, we want to provide Aussie veterans with the opportunity to transition into a new career with rewarding work and expanding employment prospects.”

Co-founder and chief executive of Soldier On, John Bale, says programmes like the one ServiceNow is offering to veterans are important.

“For many veterans, the biggest stress they will ever face is leaving the defence force, which often leaves them feeling a loss of identity and purpose, coupled with pressure of having to find new careers.

“It is important for us all to work together and lessen this stress and help veterans find purposeful employment after serving our country.”

Bale says having corporate support from organisations such as ServiceNow, Citadel, Accenture and CSC, to run education and training programmes with pathways to future employment opportunities, is a critical part of the reintegration process for veterans.
