The Macquarie Telecom Group is partnering with the Dinner in the Sky by Vino Paradiso festival in Sydney which propels 22 people around a dinner table 50 metres into the sky.
Macquarie Telecom says it has partnered with both organisations to take over Dinner in the Sky before the festival kicks off on 18 November, following the success of a lunch in the sky event held by the company in Perth during April.
Hosted in The Rocks, Sydney over two days, Vino Paradiso is an annual festival showcasing wine and food from 20 iconic Australian wine regions and 50 wineries.
“We like to do things differently to other telcos,” said Luke Clifton, group executive, Macquarie Telecom. “That’s what our #SoUnTelco campaign is all about – it means fun experiences like this, highlighting our excellent customer service, hiring locally and helping young Australians develop their careers. We work with Australian mid-to-large businesses, which are often overlooked by other telcos, so we aim to do better by them.”
{loadposition peter}The partnership is part of Macquarie Telecom’s #SoUnTelco campaign, an initiative that Clifton says aims to “humanise the company, separate it from its competitors and provide unique, people-focused experiences like this”.
According to Clifton, the campaign has resonated well with customers and partners and leverages Macquarie’s “industry-leading Net Promoter Score (NPS), an index which ranges from -100 to +100”.
“Most other telcos’ NPS scores hover around zero and many go below it – ours is pushing towards +70. We’re streets ahead of any other telco in Australia. We’ve made our business about our people and our customers, doing things our competitors can’t or won’t do and going the extra mile – the results are clear to see,” Clifton claimed.
Clifton says other aspects of the #SoUnTelco campaign include a major drive to hire locally and support and develop Australia’s tech and telecoms talent pool, and he says Macquarie Telecom runs an annual graduate programme and partners with University of Technology as part of its Student Accomplish program to provide coaching to students on CVs, mock-interviews and guide them to developing successful careers.
The Dinner in the Sky follows what Clifton describes as a successful few months for Macquarie Telecom, with the launch of a “first-of-its-kind” SD-WAN service, now being used by more than 150 customers, ASD accreditation for PROTECTED services in its Government Cloud business, and a third successive year of strong profit growth for the company.
