Australia’s 'biggest software crowdfunding campaign' concludes

Token-based blockchain voting and decision-making platform, Horizon State, has raised over $1.4 million in its crowdfunding campaign - in just two weeks.

In what we're told was "a final 16 hour flurry of interest," Horizon State has announced securing "an additional $700,000 in funding from all corners of the globe, bringing the total amount raised to over $1.4 million - in just two weeks."

Boasting of having "no funds, firms, or institutional investors involved in Horizon State’s Initial Coin Offering (ICO)," the company says this makes it "Australia’s largest crowdfunding result for a software platform or product in history."

Of course, says the company, "this fundraising result is about much more than just the development of software. The funds contributed to the Horizon State project were done by thousands of individuals who share a vision for a future that is more accountable, more transparent, and more trustworthy."

{loadposition alex08}The company says that this "this result - and the ICO process - represents is a democratisation of wealth generation opportunity, for the masses.

"Unlike a traditional seed round for a privately held startup, this fundraising activity was not exclusive to a small number of elite investors. Instead, whether it was a contribution of $50 or $5000, anyone who believes in Horizon State’s mission has been able to back us, and will share in the success the business is working towards."

Horizon State Co-Founder, Jamie Skella, said: “Philosophical motivations aside, what this funding enables is the propagation of technology that will dramatically reduce taxpayer spending on paper based ways of collecting opinions or votes, while increasing the efficiency in which these kinds of activities can be orchestrated.

"Most profoundly, it enables the storing of results in a secure way - for the first time ever, we now have a record of decisions which cannot be tampered with.”

Ultimately, we're told that "this funding enables the beginning of redesigning how societies collectively make decisions, and will serve as a landmark step toward the eradication of corruption in our democratic outcomes."

The company notes having "built a token-based blockchain voting and decision-making platform that delivers unprecedented trust through the integrity and post-unforgeable attributes of blockchain technology. Horizon State delivers a secure digital ballot box that cannot be hacked, wherein results can never be altered, and voter identities are protected."
