ATO deploys monitoring solution from AppDynamics

The Australian Taxation Office has deployed AppDynamics’ performance monitoring application to monitor  its critical applications, including MyTax, a web-based platform that enables tax return lodgments

AppDynamics, a Cisco company, says that ATO has recently invested in digitally transforming its entire business and, as part of the push to innovate, has modernised its application architecture and shifted it to the cloud.

According to AppDynamics, an applicton intelligence company, it was brought in to ensure customers have an uninterrupted service by pinpointing issues before they impact consumers.

AppDynamics says that prior to its deployment, the ATO used a legacy Application Performance Monitoring (APM) solution that was complex to deploy and configure and which meant the department was unable to keep pace with changes happening internally.

“Through great customer experiences, MyTax is anticipating an increased in volume of online applications,” AppDynamics notes.

"Very few people enjoy doing their taxes, so it’s important we make it as easy as possible. With AppDynamics, the ATO now knows what is going on across the business, and can act early on issues to avoid disruptions to customers", said Simon Horrocks, Country Manager for AppDynamics in ANZ.
