Vumero Institute is pleased to announce the return of the Cyber in Business Conference to Melbourne, Australia. The Conference will be held on Thursday 26th October 2017 at the Rydges Melbourne, with 300+ attendees expected across 2 tracks. This is the second year that the conference has been held in Melbourne following a successful debut in December 2016.

OVERVIEW OF THE CYBER IN BUSINESS CONFERENCE

In today’s hyper connected world, the question is not if an organisation will be attacked, but when, how and by whom. Cyber threats are no longer just an information technology issue; they go to the very core of all Australian businesses. The Cyber in Business Conference aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to understand cyber security as a whole of business issue.

A curated selection of leading industry practitioners will present across individual presentations, seminars, workshops, panel discussions and live hacking demonstrations. The Conference will also showcase the best local cybersecurity innovators and entrepreneurs in the Innovation & Startup Showcase Session, hosted by Craig Davies from the Australian Cyber Security Growth Network.

GENDER DIVERSITY IN CYBERSECURITY

Current studies indicate that women comprise only 11% of the cyber security workforce. Research also suggests that the best ways to empower women to succeed in cyber security is to give them the public platform to demonstrate their ability and leaderships. Striving to increase workplace diversity is not an empty slogan — it makes businesses and the industry as a whole more successful. That's why Cyber in Business Melbourne is proud to have the strongest representation of female speakers at any Cyber Security Conference in Asia-Pacific.

Simply put, Gender Diverse teams work better. Yet current studies indicate women comprise only 11% of the cyber security workforce. Research also indicates that one of the best ways to encourage women to succeed in cyber security is to give them the public platform to demonstrate their ability and leadership.
