Top Italian telco Wind Tre, a merger of the previous Three Mobile and Wind brands, has more customers than people in Australia — 31.3 million — and has entered the MATRIXX of digitally transformative nirvana.
MATRIXX Software has announced that Wind Tre has chosen MATRIXX Software as the digital commerce platform for its Wind and 3 brands.
MATRIXX proudly boasts that Wind Tre will be able to “create, package, market, sell and deliver products and services to all its consumer and business customers in fully digital mode”, with a “simple and flexible experience for customers, including a completely online option to purchase, pay, and customise their services".
Why does this matter? Because Wind Tre is part of a trend of operators who have “committed to sweeping changes in order to address digitisation”, with MATRIXX working with “new vendors and spurning some of the typical legacy system solutions that are no longer allowing them to compete at the level today’s customers are demanding.”
{loadposition alex08}Beyond a simple partnership story, MATRIXX reports “a widening trend across the industry for a complete disruptive overhaul".
“For too long,” we’re told, “telcos have been trying to patch their way through to digital – offering flashier front end experiences that can’t be supported by the back-end technology and fall short of providing any customer value.”
Indeed, as those telcos “compete more and more with digital upstarts and OTT players, they’re recognising that delivering a seamless, personalised and highly on demand consumer experience is the only way to maintain and strengthen customer relationships".
Naturally, MATRIXX states it is “the only solution allowing telcos to transform into digital solution providers, and they are gaining significant momentum with operators all over the world who are wanting to own a new playing field".
To that end, the MATRIXX Digital Commerce platform will be at “the heart of Wind Tre’s new digital customer platform, enabling customers to personalise their telecom services".
At the same time, it will enable Wind Tre “to consolidate its infrastructure by reducing the number of systems, simplifying processes and modernising the way it interacts with its customers".
We’re told that “the agreement with MATRIXX forms part of the investment plan that Wind Tre is doing to improve and simplify the network and services, and to confirm its leadership in the Italian market".
Michiel J. Van Eldik, chief digital officer at Wind Tre, said: “MATRIXX is at the centre of our digital vision because it allows us to create new and exciting experiences for customers, no matter where their digital journey begins. In addition, MATRIXX provides our customers with real-time products and services with a sales model that guarantees fun, value, and convenience”.
Benoit Hanssen, formerly chief technology officer at Vodafone Australia, and now CTO at Wind Tre, said, “We expect a lot from the new MATRIXX platform. It will be at the heart of our new digital IT infrastructure, providing our customers a more simple, reliable, online experience of our services.”
MATRIXX Software is clearly proud of the impressive results its customers have achieved, such as Vodafone, Telstra, Smart, PLDT, Hutchison and now Wind Tre, just to name a few, so if you’re a telco and haven’t yet plugged into the MATRIXX, what are you waiting for?
Lawrence Fishburne? Keanu Reeves?
Get on with it already. MATRIXX says it is the one, and it has already redefined the nature of reality for many telcos.
The company wants you to get on board with the MATRIXX revolutions, or get left behind and watch the Agent Smith of disruptive competition take you apart piece by piece. Plug in or log out, red pill or blue pill.
The choice is yours. Choose wisely, or you might find your beginning has a much quicker end than you anticipated.
