It’s iPhone 7 launch day, and Optus has sweetened the deal for its new and existing customers to upgrade to Apple’s latest and greatest.
Optus previously announced its iPhone 7 plans here, on 9 September but on launch day, today, it has added a little extra.
The company says: ‘To mark the launch of the new iPhone7 and iPhone 7 Plus in Australia, Optus today announced a bonus data offer on selected iPhone 7 plans for new and existing customers.’

The highlights are as follows:
- Customer that purchase any iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus on an $85 My Plan Plus will receive 8GB of data per month (7GB + 1GB bonus data)
- Customers will be able to stream music, TV and movies data free on their new smartphone (on selected plans and streaming apps)
- Unlimited standard national calls and texts on all My Plan Plus, and included international minutes on plans $65 per month and above
- Customers can also get up to $400 credit towards a new smartphone when they trade in their old phone, details here.
- Optus advises there is also ‘a change in pricing for the 128GB iPhone 7 on selected plans.’
