Like Kogan Mobile and Vaya, ALDIMobile has revamped some of its data offerings, while introducing a new Jumbo plan from 13 September with 16GB of data for $55.
Noting that it has experienced "its largest year-on-year growth over the last 12 months”, Aldi’s telco arm, ALDImobile, is doing what Aldi does best: shaking things up and selling stuff at great prices.
In this case, it is “shaking up the telco industry” by “introducing a new market leading prepaid plan and revamping its data offering”, with more detail here – although by tomorrow when the new plans go live, the old ones will have been deleted and all the news plans will be available via the ALDIMobile home page.
Promising 16GB of data on its Jumbo plan, which naturally includes the now-standard unlimited calls and messages in Australia, it also boats 300 international minutes to 50 countries, and has a 30-day plan, unlike some competitors who have moved to 28 days.
{loadposition alex08}Naturally, ALDIMobile says this is now “the most competitive prepaid plan in the market".
Of course, KoganMobile has 16GB for $49.90 per 30 days, but no international calling minutes, although with apps like WhatsApp, Skype, FaceTime and various others, you may never need to place an International call.
That said, included international calling minutes is something that has started becoming more widely available, and 300 minutes is a solid allocation that does allow ALDIMobile to claim its “most competitive” status.
Amaysim offers 14GB for $50 with unlimited calls in Australia, unlimited calls to 10 countries, and 300 minutes of international calls to 22 countries, but only for 28 days.
Meanwhile, Vaya offers 13GB for $44 per calendar month, and offers 200 minutes of International calls to 100 countries for $2 per month more, and you'll find pretty amazing pre-paid deals directly from Telstra, Optus and Vodafone, too.
So, there’s a lot of competition out there, but with access to the Telstra 4G and 3G wholesale network, ALDIMobile’s plans continue their competitiveness, and widespread availability thanks to the myriad Aldi stores across Australia.
ALDIMobile also promises it is revamping its data offering “to help Aussies stay connected”, with all ALDImobile plans now offering “data rollover, which was previously only available on three of its plans".
It is also increasing its data offering “in plans such as its XXL pack, going from 9GB to 12GB for the same price ($45)", while the XL plan goes from 7GB to 8GB. The S, M and L plans appear to be unchanged in terms of included data, aside from the nifty inclusion of the aforementioned data rollover, which will certainly be of use to those on low plans who use a lot of Wi-Fi to build up some cellular data to use when they most need it – which is a welcome change.
The company proudly boasts this announcement comes on the heels of its “being rated the Most Satisfied Customers Mobile Prepaid by Canstar Blue for the third year in a row – Canstar considers value for money, coverage and ease of recharge for this category".
So, ALDIMobile is the latest telco to revamp its plans and add valuable new features and added data and/or calling value, so as always, it is we the people, especially if we are on pre-paid or no-contract plans, who are the definite winners!
