Hisense fires up 100-inch Laser TV at IFA for FIFA 2018

Laser TVs were previewed over a decade ago, but with Hisense bringing a 100-inch model to life, alongside its ULED range, the Hisense competitive spirit is clearly firing up and getting set to stun.

Hisense is aiming to score goals with its official sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup 2018, and is doing its bit to make “this year’s IFA a celebration of the world’s biggest sport event.”

Naturally, as you’d expect at a prestigious consumer electronics show like IFA 2017, Hisense has rocked up with a line-up of high-end TVs, which the company obviously bills as enabling “viewers around the world to enjoy the world favourite spectator sport with incredible picture clarity, and world-class display technology.”

As you’d expect, Hisense has made its recently released Series 8 and Series 9 ULED displays centre stage, but IFA 2017 visitors are also promised “a sneak peek at a newly developed Hisense Laser TV,” which the company cleverly claims is “guaranteed to make watching your favourite football player larger than life.”

{loadposition alex08}Head of Marketing, Andre Iannuzzi says he’s excited to showcase Hisense’ latest ULED displays, and stated: “ULED has proven to be something Australian consumer want more of; this year we’ve introduced our best range of TVs yet. Attendees, particularly those who attended IFA 2016, will no doubt be blown away by the progress made, as well as the latest and upcoming offerings on display.”

To celebrate this year’s IFA, Hisense is not only bringing its high-end TV line-up along, but is also “hosting special activations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup” and naturally, visitors to Hisense’s stand “can look forward to a variety of FIFA themed specials at the Hisense booth.”

Hisense Series 8 and 9 ULED TVs billed as “Ready for kick-off”

The company says its Series 8 and Series 9 ULED TVs “create a full immersive viewing experience and will take watching the world game from home to a whole new level. The 4K UHD TVs combine the latest state-of-the-art technology to bring the stars of the tournament right into your living room.”

Hisense proudly boasts of using three attributes: Ultra Contrast, Ultra Colour, and Ultra Motion to produce outstanding picture quality.

  • Ultra Contrast through local dimming in multiple zones provides darker darks and brighter brights in every second of a soccer match.
  • Ultra Colour is achieved by combining Quantum dot technology and HDR Supreme, which gives a more natural viewing experience.
  • Ultra Motion in Hisense TVs adopts motion estimation and motion compensation technology to give a new level of clarity in fast moving game scenes.

Then there’s the VIDAA U user interface so you can “enjoy all aspects of the game.”

Here, Hisense say that “to give fans an even broader game experience, Hisense provides the all-new and innovative user interface VIDAA U” in its 2017 TV models.

Billed as a “fully customisable smart TV surface” it lets viewers “re-watch their favourite World Cup moments on YouTube or other streaming services, with the live experience on TV just a click away.”

We’re told that “VIDAA U is lightning fast, making it easy to switch between apps and channels while the game is on - so no game-winning goals will ever be missed again.”

Finally, we get to the new shining star in the Hisense line-up, its forthcoming Hisense Laser TV, promising a “Larger than life TV experience.”

Composed of a main machine, a 100inch panel, and a subwoofer, Hisense says its Laser TV is “one of the outstanding highlights at IFA 2017.”

Billed as offering a new experience in home entertainment, in part thanks to its brightness of more than 2,500 nits which means the Hisense Laser TV can be operated and enjoyed even in daylight,” Laser TVs promise stunning colour and massive sizes without the massive price tag - or at least, that was the promise when I first saw Laser TVs 10 years ago.

Now, to be clear, Hisense has not issued any pricing, but I’d expect it to be much more affordable than traditional 100-inch TVs from competitors.

In addition, since the new system is not simply a projector, but a complete TV experience, Hisense naturally states that “viewers can enjoy all the commodities they know from other Hisense TVs: an easy-to-use and customisable smart TV user interface and a built-in TV tuner.”

More is yet to come, and I’d expect Hisense to proffer this internally projected televisual experience to be one of its sharpest offerings in 2018, so keep your eyes peeled, and in the meantime, the company no doubt hopes you’ll check out its Series 8 and 9 ULEDs.
