Optus Satellite has extended its services contract for a further four years with the Seven television network for transponder capacity on the Optus D1 satellite.
Under the extension the contract will run to 2021 and capacity requirements have been expanded from 18MHz to 27MHz.
Optus Satellite has provided satellite broadcast support to Seven Network since 1986 and the financial terms of the contract re-signing have not been disclosed.
Optus supports Seven with the ability to flexibly move television content between sites, deliver outside broadcast services and network resilience and continuity in the event of a terrestrial failure.
