Looks like Foxtel’s Game was working for Thrones evening Ep 2 broadcast

Although there were a tiny handful of reports of problems with a PE500 technical error a couple of hours after the 11am “same time as the US” broadcast, there were no complaints on Twitter for Monday night’s Foxtel GoT S7 Ep 2 broadcast.

I was out helping friends with an upgrade to a new smartphone earlier tonight, and simply didn’t have time to indulge in Game of Thrones.

Indeed, I have been very busy the past week, and still haven’t seen Episode 1 of Season 7, even though I’ve written articles about how other people had issues watching the first episode just over 7 days ago.

That said, I am very keenly awaiting some free time later this week, and am studiously avoiding all spoilers, so I’ll watch when I get a chance to watch.

Heck, I didn’t watch for 6 years and pretty much watched all six seasons over three weeks at the beginning of this year, so you can tell that when it comes to the Game of Patience, I sit atop that throne quite handily.

So, when I did look online to write this story, I noticed there was a TripleM report which rather crudely stated that “Foxtel Appears To Have Shit The Bed Again This Week.”

The evidence for this appears to have been a “PE500” technical problem, with a mere handful of tweets from users claiming to have experienced it.

The Tweets appear to be after midday on Monday, so well after the 11am time that the actual broadcast was happening, and well before the 8.30pm rush from last night, when huge numbers would have been watching.

I clicked on some of the tweeter’s names, and some of the tweets appear to have gone missing, so if Foxtel really did unmentionables in its bed this week, it appears to have changed the sheets and fixed things much faster this time, which is good to see.

And no-one else has written stories of outages this evening, so again - it seems that Week 2 Episode 2 Season 7 mission was accomplished.

Thus, it appears that Foxtel has slayed, at least for this week, the glitchy gremlins that got into the system last week, and has banished them to the lands across the Narrow Sea.

All eyes now focus on next week’s broadcast, to see whether Foxtel’s hold upon the legal streaming throne is maintained - or whether some form of treachery, madness, illness, red witch, white walker, dragon, dwarf, Lannister, outer space alien, George RR Martin cameo, Ed Sheeran cameo or something else pops up.

Until then, no spoilers (aside from what's in the description screen captured below!!)
