Integration, API management, and analytics vendor Tibco Software has acquired microservices specialist nanoscale.io.
Tibco's acquisition of nanoscale.io will enhance its ability to enable the use and development of microservices and APIs, supporting a "bring your own code" approach to microservices development, and allowing developers to use any combination of programming languages.
These microservices can then be quickly deployed to almost any environment, including on-premises, mobile, in the cloud, or even on an IoT edge device, delivering enhanced agility and speed, the company said.
The expanded product portfolio also allows customers to take advantage of serverless computing and Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) application styles, which can significantly reduce operational costs, especially in edge and IoT applications where more processing takes place on the local device, with a more efficient utilisation of microservices.
