Seeking to illuminate its new value offering, Amaysim is hammering home its “highly competitive NBN offer” for new and existing customers from $40pm.
The NBN. It’s a dog’s breakfast of fibre, coax, copper, wireless, satellite and, presumably somewhere, tin cans and bits of string, but it’s the NBN we’ve got.
Soon someone somewhere will write a book entitled “How I learned to stop worrying and love the NBN,” but presumably that will only be because they’ve finally achieved a great price and fast speeds all the time.
Whether that will be an Amaysim customer, I don’t know - I haven’t yet had the chance to experience the quality of its NBN connectivity, but if Amaysim’s NBN service is as good as its mobile service, customers should be well pleased, indeed.

So, what’s happening is that Amaysim now offers three NBN plans. I guess it’s kind of a “good, better, best” scenario, with the good still being affordably good, the better being, well, better, and the best being the fastest - and best, while also being the most expensive.
This kind of simplicity is what you’d expect from a company whose ethos has always been keeping things simple and affordable, and it’s the way all businesses should aspire to run their operations.
Now, it’s important to note that companies like Amaysim (and its competitors!) do love a good special, and a special discounted 6 month promotional pricing period (as listed in the T&Cs), and that’s what it is offering for its first two plans.
Until July 31, the first plan is available $40 incl GST for the 12/1Mbps plan with unlimited data for the first six months, after which the plan reverts to its normal $60 pricing.
The second plan is available for $60 per month, again until July 31, with unlimited data and 25/5Mbps speeds, with the cost reverting to $70 per month after the aforementioned initial 6 months period of special discounted pricing.
The third plan remains at its normal $90 per month for unlimited data but at 100/40Mbps speeds.
No doubt the speeds for all these plans come with the usual “up to” caveat in the fine print.

Whether Amaysim will come up with special pricing anew in six months hence is yet to be seen, but as each plan comes with no lock-in contracts, one wonders how much more competitive 2018 will be compared to the insanely great levels of competition we’ve already seen thus far.
