Streaming service Stan slayed with its serial killing series, Wolf Creek, and to be a true serial killer, one series could never be enough.
Australian streaming service, Stan, has announced that John Jarratt has reprised his iconic role as Mick Taylor alongside a new star-studded cast of Wolf Creek, season two.
Production has begun in South Australia on what is being dubbed as “the highly anticipated second season of its award-winning, smash-hit, critically-acclaimed Stan Original drama series.”
Director Greg McLean and star John Jarratt are continuing their “hugely successful collaboration in the world of Wolf Creek, with Jarratt reprising his role as the outback apex predator Mick Taylor, who returns with a vengeance after his season 1 showdown.”

Just some of the other talented cast of stars and newcomers includes Tess Haubrich (Alien: Covenant), Matt Day (Rake, Paper Giants, Underbelly, Kiss or Kill), Ben Oxenbould (Comedy Inc., The Kettering Incident, The Code), Laura Wheelwright (Animal Kingdom), Stephen Hunter (The Hobbit, The Leftovers) and Chris Haywood (Shine, Muriel’s Wedding, Dogs in Space).
Naturally, in the SVOD battle of the cyber streamers, Stan pumps up its own original series tyres, boasting that original content has been “award-winning, fresh and diverse dramas, comedies and movies”, and proves this by mentioned its “AACTA Award-winning and Logie Award-nominated series No Activity, and One Night Stan, a series of full-length stand-up comedy specials and the forthcoming comedy The Other Guy, starring Matt Okine.”
However, it’s Wolf Creek Season 2 that we’re reading this article for, which we’re told will be a six-part, high-end psychological thriller “pitting a diverse cast of characters against an inhospitable, remote landscape, whose lethal dangers are personified by the series’ infamous serial killer.”
The plot starts as Mick Taylor “sees an opportunity of a lifetime after a chance encounter with a coach full of tourists from around the globe. The unwitting travellers begin an outback adventure none of them could have imagined.”
Nick Forward, Stan’s Chief Content Officer wasted no time in putting a good foot and mouth forward by stating that: “Season 1 of Wolf Creek was a worldwide smash hit, thrilling and delighting Stan subscribers in equal measure, and breaking records all over the place.
“Season 2 will kick things up a notch: Greg McLean once again electrifying audiences with this new, fresh chapter in the iconic Wolf Creek saga. Season 2 is a breath-taking return to the intimate, character-driven style of the original WOLF CREEK movie, set over 6 hour-long episodes of premium drama. Once again, Stan will be the only place you can watch this unique drama, with global premieres internationally to follow.”

As if it wasn’t already blindingly obvious, Stan’s media release ends by no sugar Sherlocking us with the Watsonian statement that “Wolf Creek Season 2 will release exclusively on Stan.”
