On the same day that Apple launches two new iPhones, the wireless industry is beginning a major US conference in Las Vegas which runs for the next three days.
Billed as "everything wireless, all in one place", I am visiting CTIA Super Mobility 2016 for the first time, thanks to an invitation from Australia’s networking and wireless powerhouse, Netcomm Wireless.
I’ll obviously have more to say about NetComm’s products and services on display at CTIA Super Mobility 2016 over the next two or three days, as well as video interviews with various other players whom I’ll be visiting at the event.
You can watch a live stream of each day's keynote speeches at this link.

Naturally, there will be a lot of talk and demonstrations around the Internet of Things or IoT, as well as IIoT – the Industrial Internet of Things.
Also huge will be M2M or machine to machine technologies.
There’ll naturally be plenty of talk about 5G, but also 4.5G and 4G technologies.
Of course, these are the only aspects to wireless technologies – there will be all manner of technologies on display, vying for the attention of some of the world’s biggest telcos and technology-using companies, large and small.
As I’m sure to discover, there will be stands and companies covering every single aspect of the evolving wireless landscape, and the connected life at home, at work, and everywhere in between.
I’m also going on a media tour of the "Smart Cities" stand, which I’ll be filming so you can watch it after I’ve uploaded the videos.
We are promised a range of "interactive Smart Experiences" in the following areas:
- 5G Launchpad
- AR/VR Arcade
- Connected Car Lot
- Drone Airfield
- Smart Home
- Smart City Park
- Smart Retail Store
An extensive exhibitor list can be seen here.
The official ‘CTIA Super Mobility 2016 Mobile App’ for iTunes and Android can be downloaded here.
More info over the next few days!
