Global communications solutions provider ShoreTel has expanded its Connect Cloud unified communications solution with the addition of a global numbers service.
The new service, available to ShoreTel customers in Australia, the US, Canada and the UK, allows multinational organisations to create a local presence in the countries they service by establishing unique Direct Inward Dial (DID) or International Toll-free Service (ITFS) numbers in each country.
ShoreTel says Australia marks the latest step in its continued global expansion of its Connect Cloud Unified Communications as-a-Service (UCaaS) solution and follows the successful introduction of its first cloud-based voice service in Australia, which it claims has seen rapid uptake and strong customer demand since its launch in April.
“Connect Cloud gives our Australian customers and partners greater choice and flexibility in how they procure, design and deploy unified communications and contact centre solutions,” said Don Joos, president and chief executive of ShoreTel.
{loadposition peter}“The richness of the Connect Cloud solution combined with the enthusiasm we’ve seen from the Australian channel perfectly positions ShoreTel to drive cloud growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
“As ShoreTel continues to expand globally, our base of multi-national customers has rapidly grown and created an increased need for global cloud services.
“Global Numbers allows businesses to be where their customers are and create a better customer experience, without having to increase headcount or add equipment.”
According to Joos, ShoreTel’s Global Numbers footprint covers countries where there has been strong demand, with the service offering simple pricing with flat monthly rates for local DIDs and affordable per minute charges for inbound toll-free service.
“We have an incredibly loyal customer base here in Australia, and are honoured to still count as customers most of the original organisations who chose ShoreTel when we opened operations here more than 10 years ago,” said Frederic Gillant, vice-president and managing director of Asia-Pacific, ShoreTel.
“Many of our customers have been adopting cloud in other areas of their IT infrastructure and business; now they also have a low-risk cloud migration path for their ShoreTel telephony and UC environments.”
