ARM CEO Simon Segars has joined SoftBank's board of directors.
The appointment follows the 2016 acquisition of ARM by SoftBank.
“I’m honoured to join the SoftBank Board at this exciting next stage of innovation,” said Segars.
“In the same way it transformed mobile computing from chip to cloud and all points in between, ARM shapes the smart, connected world of IOT across a common platform.

Segars joined ARM in 1991, and has held various senior positions since 2001 when he was appointed vice-president of engineering. He took on the CEO role in 2013.
He also sits on the boards of the EDA Consortium, the Global Semiconductor Alliance, and Dolby Laboratories.
Segars holds a BEng in electronic engineering from the University of Sussex and an MSc in computer science from the University of Manchester.
