Westpac mobile, online banking on the blink

Westpac mobile and online banking services are offline, having been hit by outages since 10 June and customers have struggled to cope over the long weekend, judging by their reactions.

The bank said in a message on its Facebook page that it was "continuing to work on access for those customers not yet able to log in, but if you need help this morning please call us on 13 20 32 or direct message us".

It added that cardless cash, ATM, EFTPOS and telephone banking services were available and working as normal.

Comments on the bank's Facebook page ranged from the hopeful to the irritated.

{loadposition sam08}"I still cannot access my online banking, I can't get through on phone. Can I presume that any charges incurred due to the inability to transfer money will be waived!" one customer wrote.

"Been a customer for 3 weeks now. And I am not impressed whatsoever!!!," a second said.

Another commented: "ha – good job Westpac – you are now deleting customers comments to this thread. Will be watching your share price today..."

And a fourth wrote: "They PM'd yesterday and asked for my full name, post code and email address and I did that. Still have not heard from them. Still cannot access my bank account via Internet banking... JUST GREAT SERVICE????"
