Amazon Web Services has said that it will be charging GST from 1 July on cloud services provided to individual Australian customers.
In a notice sent to customers, AWS said GST would not be added on cloud services supplied to business customers who are already registered for the GST.
AWS said it would charge GST on certain Amazon Chime, Amazon Connect, and Snowball services provided to business and individual customers.
Australian has passed legislation to levy the GST on all products bought from online vendors once the new financial year begins.

Anyone who has a valid ABN and is registered for the GST can visit this page to enter the ABN for each account.
If the ABN is valid, AWS says it will not apply GST on most future purchases of taxable services which are used by that particular account.
