HP uses Cannes for new notebooks and the return of the Wolf.

HP used its long-term support of the movie industry to unveil new models of the Spectre x2, the Envy 13 and the Envy x360 at the Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes is about creativity so HP also announced that it and Viacom 18 are co-producing Manto, the true story of Saadat Hasan Manto, an Indo-Pakistani writer, playwright and author considered one of the greatest writers in South Asian history.

And they previewed The Wolf: Season 2 building on the dramatic first season starring award-winning actor Christian Slater as a fictional hacker targeting the healthcare industry’s highly sensitive data records. (See video at the end). Wolf has been a major success to help redefine how enterprise things about the security of peripherals.

The new range includes

The HP Spectre x2 brings the performance of 7th Intel Core processors, the durability of a stainless-steel hinge and ability to create with Windows Ink to a premium detachable PC.

  • The Windows Ink Certified pen is pressure sensitive so emerging artists and creators can produce a wide range of artistic effects, from varying line weights to creating subtle shading and colouring.
  • The U-shaped stainless steel kickstand with the ability to function flat and up to 165° degrees is optimised for inking in any angle with exceptional durability to stand up to everyday use.
  • A CNC-machined aluminium chassis and dark ash silver colouring with a copper kickstand provide more durability in each curve and contour for a refined design.
  • A brilliant 12.3” diagonal 3K x 2K (3000x2000) display with 6 million pixels, bringing HD entertainment to the next level and providing a wider range of ambient light options, giving photographers or graphic artists better screen readability and visibility.
  • Durable detachable keyboard: Providing a strong magnetic force to stay attached in any mode, along with a full-sized keyboard and responsive glass trackpad.
  • High-resolution cameras: A 13MP rear camera, 5MP WDR wide-view front camera and an IR camera for Windows Hello biometric authentication.
  • Long battery life with HP Fast Charge: Stay entertained and productive with up to 8-hours of battery life and HP Fast Charge technology moving from 0% battery life to 50% on a 30-minute charge.

The HP ENVY x 360 15.6” diagonal convertible is redesigned to pack the technology and versatility needed to be a laptop or a tablet in any environment.

  • A micro-edge display, unibody aluminium chassis and fluid geared hinge provide quality and durability in any mode or any colour – offered with Dark Ash Silver and Natural Silver.
  • Windows Ink Certification1 with a high precision N-tig stylus makes it easy for any user to take notes and mark up documents seamlessly like a pen on paper while the UHD IPS display option gives more than 8 million pixels for watching videos or detailed editing.
  • Bringing proven performance and choice means prosumers can easily multitask with the latest Intel Core-i5 and Intel Core-i7 and AMD A9, A12 and FX processors while the ability to configure with up to 16GB of DDR4 memory, elegantly run endless applications simultaneously.

Spectre and ENVY Pricing and Availability

The HP Spectre x2 is available in June, starting at $1,999 (plus GST).

The HP ENVY x360 15 is available in July, starting at $1,599 (plus GST).
