Brisbane-based ICT services provider Data#3 has completed a multi-million-dollar, digital infrastructure project for the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH).
Completion of the project, leveraging HP technology, sees patient services commenced at SCUH in a phased approach as the hospital provides a range of new and expanded health services.
Data#3 was engaged to equip the hospital with more than 4200 digital technology devices in partnership with HP Australia (HP) and the project was part of an overall strategy to help SCUH become a more digital and connected hospital.
Data#3 says specialist healthcare devices provide enhanced mobility and flexibility, and give hospital staff fast, reliable and seamless access to critical information such as patient details, test results and reports.
{loadposition peter}According to Data#3 chief executive officer and managing director, Laurence Baynham, “the success of the project demonstrates Data#3’s expertise in the design and deployment of world-leading technologies, and reinforces our credentials in the healthcare sector”.
Baynham said a significant contributor to the successful project was Data#3’s logistics management, integration, deployment and testing and, working to critical deadlines, Data#3 was required to implement precise logistical planning to keep the project on track.
Chris Hewlett, business manager – commercial channel, HP Australia, said, “To our core, HP is a company formed through effective partnering. It’s through this experience that we connect with Data#3 to offer our combined experience and solutions to the progressive Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
“Together, we have extensive knowhow of the healthcare system in Australia and its technology requirements, and the complexities of how a public entity can co-exist with a private health system.”
SCUH is Queensland’s first public hospital delivered via a Public Private Partnership (PPP) with Exemplar Health, a consortium comprising Lendlease, Siemens, First State Super, Capella Capital and Spotless Facilities Services.
Under the partnership, the consortium designed, constructed, partially financed, commissioned and will maintain the hospital buildings (including car parks) and grounds for 25 years.
