Samsung is reportedly issuing patches to fix "red tint", Wi-Fi and "DQA" issues, while an S8/+ wireless fast charging issue appears to be caused by the "wrong" charger.
It seems whenever any company releases a new smartphone, be it Samsung, Apple, or anyone else, problems of some kind inevitably crop up.
Some problems are easy to fix, others are more complicated, and in the case of the Note7, some can even result in recalls, or worse!
Thankfully, the problems that have arisen for the brand new Samsung S8 and S8+ smartphones seem to be relatively minor, and can reportedly be fixed by upcoming software updates from Samsung, although we're yet to see how Samsung handles the reported wireless charging S8+ issue.
{loadposition alex08}First up is the "red tint" on some S8 screens, for which Samsung will issue an update "soon". Appleinsider claims the fix forces S8 owners to manually calibrate their screens.
Next up are Wi-Fi issues that reportedly only exist in South Korea, due to "a fault in the wireless access point of a local carrier".
Third is a "DQA" or Device Quality Agent issue that some S8 owners in the US and Canada have experienced, seeing a notice that "DQA keeps stopping", according to AndroidCentral. BGR says a patch has already been issued for this problem.
Finally, there’s a wireless charging issue that causes the S8 or S8+ to show a "wireless charging pause" when trying to use fast charging mode.
There’s a video below which shows the fault, even with a Samsung-branded fast charging plate, although the fault does not occur in regular speed charging mode.
One of the members of XDA-Developers identified that the problem occurred with third-party chargers in fast-charging mode, although again, in regular charging mode, things are fine.
A commenter at the video above says: “Guys, I figured it out. The fast charging will only work with the new fast charger Samsung are selling. There's a chip in the phone to stop it working with 3rd party chargers. it will charge will 3rd party chargers but it won't FAST charge with them but slow/normal charge instead.
“Mine was doing that but didn't do it with the latest official one but f*** am I spending £70 for a charger.”
NDTV said Samsung had been silent on the wireless charging issue thus far.
