Dark fibre connectivity and digital services provider Superloop has drawn former Vocus senior executive Dan Whitford to its management ranks to take up the position of general manager of strategic sales for the Asia Pacific region.
Whitford joins Superloop from telecommunications services provider Vocus where he was general manager of wholesale, managing 40 people across three different sales teams.
Superloop, founded by high-profile entrepreneur and company chief executive Bevan Slattery, has appointed Whitford to drive “strategic capacity” sales in the APAC region.
Whitford’s appointment reunites him with Matt Hollis, group general manager, sales and marketing and executive director of Superloop, with whom he worked at Vocus Communications.

Slattery said Whitford’s appointment was further evidence of the Superloop’s commitment to build “one of the most experienced sales leadership teams in the Asia Pacific telecommunications market”.
Just last week Superloop announced the acquisition of subsea cable system company SubPartners in a deal which Slattery says increases capacity on its subsea cable network to meet growing customer demand.
SubPartners is part of the Indigo consortium along with Google, Telstra, Singtel, AARNet and indosat Ooredoo, which is constructing the Indigo West cable between Singapore and Perth and the Indigo Central cable linking Perth to Sydney.
