Victoria’s State Emergency Services (SES) has deployed a hybrid cloud solution including Microsoft’s Public Cloud as part of a major digital transformation.
The deployment of the new platform by Microsoft partner Data#3 is designed to improve emergency planning and response for the VIC SES which provides state-wide emergency assistance round the clock.
The new platform is claimed to enable VIC SES to be more agile and efficient in responding to critical incidents and emergencies, including bushfires, floods, storms, road rescues or search and rescue operations.
Andrew Ferrarese, manager information services, VIC SES, said the new technology gives people in the field quick and easy access to systems, “which is so important when it comes to reporting incidents and emergency information".

Data#3 chief executive Laurence Baynham says it was chosen as VIC SES’s preferred partner primarily due to its Microsoft capabilities and Azure expertise, as well as experience in the Victorian emergency management landscape where the company services other agencies.
