FULL VIDEOS: 50 Best Places to Work in Australia 2016 awards night plus interviews

Great Place To Work (GPTW) says it  "surveyed 51,937 employees at 135 companies for the study". 

This year is the ninth year that GPTW has been "curating the study of Australia’s best workplaces".

There are two categories, under 100 employees and over 100 employees, and each company earns a score based on two factors.

GPTW tells us that: "Two-thirds of the total score comes from the employee responses to a 58 statement survey. The remaining third comes from GPTW’s evaluation of the company’s procedures in nine specific practice areas."

“A great workplace is one where you trust the people you work for, have pride in what you do and enjoy the people you work with,” says Zrinka Lovrencic, GPTW’s managing director, who is billed as an expert in what goes into making average workplaces good and good workplaces great.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to study over 1000 Australian companies and the holy trinity of managing people is to have a mission statement, goals and values. You have to give your employees a reason to stay.

“It’s not about the money. It’s about making them feel valued and part of the team. Knowing that they are part of the success or failure of the company.”
