A British company has announced what it claims is the world's first smart condom that can measure various statistics during sexual intercourse.
The i.Con is not exactly a condom, but rather a condom ring that can be worn at the base of any condom and which collects statistics, according to British Condoms.
The device is not yet available, but the company says it will be on sale later in 2017.
It has an integrated micro USB port and a full charge will take about an hour and allows for about six to eight hours of usage.
{loadposition sam08}The company says the ring will cost 59.99 and while it will be initially available on its own website, sales are likely elsewhere too given the wide interest shown.
The i.Con can record:
- Calories burnt during sexual intercourse;
- Speed of thrusts;
- Total number of thrusts;
- Frequency of sessions;
- Total duration of sessions;
- Average velocity of thrusts;
- Girth measurement;
- Different positions used (currently in beta testing); and
- Average skin temperature.
The company says the i.Con uses a nano-chip and sensors to measure and remember these variables.
The data can be downloaded to one's computer using an i.Con app which is paired using Bluetooth. Once this is done, the memory of the i.Con is automatically cleared for its next use.
