OutSystems reports record growth in 2016

Low-code platform provider OutSystems has achieved a record US$100 million in sales and 50% year-on-year growth for 2016, the company said today.

OutSystems is a private company based in the US. It has an office in Sydney. A low-code platform is one that enables fast application development and delivery with a minimum of hand coding.

The company added 178 new business customers globally last year and took on 200 new staff, with executive hires in sales, marketing, and partner management.

This takes global staff numbers to 500. OutSystems' customers are now spread over 43 countries.

More than 40,000 new developers joined the OutSystems Developer Community in 2016, contributing low-code apps, widgets, and components to accelerate productivity.

Chief executive Paulo Rosado said: "Digital transformation is one of the biggest opportunities and challenges facing today’s businesses.

"It’s putting companies under tremendous pressure to build business applications faster and with fewer resources than ever before. OutSystems continues to be extremely well-positioned to take advantage of that trend by offering a low-code platform for rapidly delivering enterprise mobile and web applications."

OutSystems, which was started in Lisbon in 2001, has its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
