ServiceNow soaks up DxContinuum

Cloud business software provider ServiceNow has agreed to acquire intelligent automation company DxContinuum.

ServiceNow intends to embed DxContinuum's machine learning technology into its products to further increase its customers' productivity.

ServiceNow said that applying DxContinuum’s machine-learning algorithms to each customer’s unique data set would allow the automatic routing of IT, HR, customer service or other requests with a high level of accuracy.

This is said to particularly important as more Internet of Things devices make service requests. According to ServiceNow, the technology will allow hundreds of thousands of machine and manual work requests to be effectively and automatically categorised and routed.

“Adding DxContinuum to the ServiceNow platform will move much more of the heavy lifting of work processes to machines, freeing people to focus on the highest value work.”

DxContinuum founder and chief executive Debu Chatterjee said: “ServiceNow already offers the industry’s most advanced software platform for automating enterprise work, and our technology will make it the smartest by far.

“Their customers’ rich operational data sets will produce highly accurate predictions to speed work across the enterprise.”

The transaction is expected to close this month, with more details to disclosed alongside ServiceNow's 2016 results announcement scheduled for 25 January.

The new capabilities for automated categorisation will be available this year.
