Border security, key IT industry issues under the microscope at the 7th annual CIO Leaders Australian Summit 2017

The international perspective, and the issue of border security for countries like Australia, will be front and centre at this year’s 7th annual CIO Leaders Summit in Melbourne with one of the keynote speakers, Mark Schwartz, CIO of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Schwartz is one of several and global and local tech leaders speaking at this year’s CIO Leaders Summit being staged by leading event management Media Corp International on Thursday 23 March at Edhiad Stadium, Melbourne.

Other keynote speakers include Alex Jones, Chief Information Officer, Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources in Victoria; Ian Gibson Chief Information Officer SuperChoice, and Ajay Bhatia Chief Information Officer, CarSales.

Schwartz, the USCIS’ Chief Information Officer, is a noted global technology innovator, and a change agent who has led organisations in creating innovative solutions to some of the toughest business challenges.

Schwartz speaks frequently at conferences on topics such as Innovation, applying Agile and DevOps ideas to enterprise IT, and overcoming low trust and bureaucratic environments – and in 2010  was named by Computerworld Magazine as one of the Premier 100 IT Leaders for “exceptional technology leadership, innovative ideas for solving business challenges, and effectively managed IT strategies”.

The invitation-only event offers opportunities for those attending for one-to-one meetings with leading supplier companies, and to gain a wealth of knowledge on the industry.

The Summit is intended for Australia’s senior IT leaders to gather for a strategic 1 day event in order to exchange knowledge and interact over a range of important issues facing the industry.

As Media Cop International CEO Tyron McGurgan says, the Summit creates “a unique interactive forum” for all participants, including interaction and engagement in the informal networking and meeting sessions.

“We invite only the leading international and local experts to provide sessions on site, this allows for attendees to be taught by front-line executives that compress years of meaningful experience into a systematic, well organised learning program,” McGurgan says.
