Brisbane-based infrastructure management vendor Opengear has announced four new models in its Remote Site Gateway family.
The new Remote Site Gateways provide between four and eight console ports, redundant gigabit Ethernet interfaces, built-in SFP connectivity and a PSTN modem for out-of-band dial-up access to remote sites.
Compared with earlier models they feature upgraded CPUs, expanded memory, and more internal storage.
The idea of a Remote Site Gateway is to give centrally-located administrators access to infrastructure at remote sites and branch offices even when the primary WAN link is unavailable.

Common issues can be automatically remediated using event-based custom scripts.
Other automation capabilities include bare-metal configuration of remote equipment without on-site intervention.
"Our expanded line of Remote Site Gateways boosts network resilience by providing IT staff with secure and comprehensive remote access to critical infrastructure," said Opengear CEO Gary Marks.
"With integrated Smart OOB in every device providing automatic monitoring and remediation of network issues, it's more efficient and more cost-effective than putting - or sending - a technician on site.
"Opengear's Remote Site Gateways enable enterprises to ensure network uptime and maintain system health at remote locations from anywhere."
